Red-tailed Hawk: Buteo jamaicensis
Red-tailed Hawks are common throughout North America and are found on every continent across the globe except for Antarctica. They are the largest species of hawk in Alabama and can be easily identified by their distinctive reddish-brown tail. The 4-H Center’s Red-tailed Hawk, Sequoia, is an illegal human imprint that hatched in the Spring of 2008 in California. Click here for more information or to book a program.
